Dwight was a Mortgage Banker in Anchorage for five years prior to being licensed to sell real estate and 1968. Since that time Dwight has been involved in residential building, property management, subdivision development, and appraisals of both residential and commercial properties. Dwight currently holds these designations as a member of the National Association of Realtors.

Dwight has received the "Jerry Award" for his fund raising efforts for Muscular Dystrophy (MDA). He has also served as a director of the Home Builders Association of Alaska, and as Chairman of the Membership committee of the Anchorage Board of Realtors, as well as serving on the Professional Standards Committee both local and statewide.
